Residents are reminded to stay vigilant when using cash machines and bank cards

To help protect yourself from fraud and theft:

Always cover your PIN when using an ATM or card machine

Be aware of people standing too close or attempting to distract you.

Check the ATM for anything unusual before use.

Never share your PIN or bank details with anyone.

Keep your card in sight when making payments.

Regularly check your bank account for suspicious transactions.

Remember: Your bank or the police will never ask for your PIN or request your bank card.

If you notice suspicious activity at a cash machine or believe you have been targeted, report it to your bank and police immediately.
